Shop Floor Relay is factory floor, field and mobile ready — downloadable on and responsive across mobile, tablet and desktop with a data or internet connection. 1 Create or receive work

Use a production order, purchase-order reference, work order, work package, batch, unit or imported external record.

2 Apply the Route Kit

Release the correct route version with its operations, work centres, target timing, tolerances and QCP assignments.

3 Queue and accept

The responsible section sees incoming work and explicitly accepts operational responsibility.

4 Execute and record

Start, pause, resume, hold, complete, reject or rework while recording quantities, notes and evidence.

5 Complete the QCP

Perform the detailed checks required inside the current route operation and apply configured failure consequences.

6 Pass and receive

Transfer the job with its current status, context, quality outcome and next action; the receiving point confirms acceptance.

Route operations and QCPs

Keep the production route meaningful while allowing detailed quality and work instructions at every step.

A Route Operation represents a genuine production stage, work-centre activity or responsibility handoff. The QCP inside that operation holds the granular work, inspection and verification requirements.

Configure a short route or a deeply detailed Route Kit. Each relevant operation may carry its own structured QCP, controlled supporting file or both. A QCP may contain one check or many hundreds of detailed tasks without turning every checkbox into an unusable route stage.

Explainable production forecasting

Set a target time and tolerance for each route operation, then compare forecast with actual progress.

Shop Floor Relay uses the route, target durations, tolerances, actual events and overall required-by or shipping date to show expected completion and emerging delivery risk.

Managers can trace a late forecast back to the operation, queue, hold, failed QCP or handoff causing it. Standards can be reviewed and adjusted over time without rewriting the history of previously released work.

Forecasting without pretending to be APS. This provides route-based progress and expected-completion visibility. Finite-capacity scheduling, constraint optimisation and automated sequencing belong to a later APS or PlatformMES pathway.

Operational production cost from execution data

See what the job is costing while it is still in production—not only after it closes.

Establish a planned or standard operational cost from the Route Kit, approved labour and resource rates, expected material usage and permitted direct costs.

As production proceeds, Shop Floor Relay uses recorded labour time or approved hours, material consumption, machine or resource time, scrap, rework, subcontract processing and other controlled cost inputs to calculate actual cost to date and expected cost at completion.

QR-enabled execution and production continuity

Move the job with its status, quality results, operating context and accountability intact.

Print an optional QR or barcode label for the job, batch, unit, trolley, kit or traveller. An authorised operator scans to open the correct live record and continue the permitted production action.

The relay is more than a status change. It transfers what was completed, what remains, quantities, QCP outcomes, failures, holds, notes, photographs, risks, expected next action and the receiving point responsible for accepting the work.

Queue selection and manual search remain available. QR accelerates shop-floor use; it does not become a mandatory dependency for every customer workflow.

Use a simple Site and work-centre model or build a deeper hierarchy across buildings, departments, sections, lines, cells, workstations, storage areas, shelves and other customer-defined operating locations.
